The Dandenong Ranges come alive in Spring. Visit the very popular Botanic Gardens with the stunning Chelsea Australian Garden. Did you know it was the first Australian entry to win Gold and Best in Show at the prestigious RHS Chelsea Flower show in London. Phillip Johnson has re-created it 10 years later in the stunning location in the Dandenong Ranges Botanic Gardens. Another spring garden to visit is the Tesselaar Tulip Festival with millions of tulips.

2. Walking Trails

There are so many lovely walks to choose from. Family friendly, gentle strolls, or serious hikes. Sherbrooke Falls, Olinda Falls, Lyrebird track from Grants picnic ground and Bourke’s lookout are some popular choices!

3. Local Markets

Are a charming way to spend the day and offer a glimpse into the local community. These markets are a delightful blend of artisan crafts, fresh produce and local handmade products, all set against the stunning backdrop of lush green hills. Strolling through the stalls, you will discover handmade treats, yummy, delicious gourmet foods and friendly local vendors. We have a market on every week! 5. Food

The Dandenong Ranges is home to a variety of charming cafes and restaurants that cater to all tastes and occasions. The younger crowd will enjoy the lively atmosphere at Kelly’s Bar and Grill and the Pig and Whistle Tavern, or head to Citrine for a romantic meal by the open fire (opening soon). Families can relax at Ripe Café in Sassafras or Dudley’s restaurant in Olinda, which offers a warm and welcoming atmosphere, with menus that satisfies both kids and adults. A visit to Seasons at Cloudhill, and a walk through the gardens is a must do when you visit, and next door is the Olinda Tea House. Hot Coffees, Hot Chocolates and cups of tea at Miss Maples a traditional English tea house is a delightful space to stop, or grab a takeaway from the Storehouse in Sassafras and Olinda while strolling the charming villages.
